This page explains the different goods and resources in the game and how you can acquire them. For effective production layouts please visit Building layout strategies. Occidental goods

These are goods which are directly consumed by Occidental inhabitants (Peasants, Citizens, Patricians, and Noblemen). All of these production facilities require a road connection to a warehouse, so you can store the finished products. On an island with your inhabitants, if any warehouse contains these goods, they will be available to the inhabitants through their house's road connection to the marketplace. If the goods are produced on a separate island, they must be transported to the island where your inhabitants live before they will be available for use.

Cider Cider Cider farm Cider is a drink consumed by all occidental inhabitants, including beggars.
Beer Beer Monastery brewery Beer is a drink consumed by Patricians and Noblemen once the Patrician population reaches 510.
Wine Wine Wine press Wine is a sophisticated drink consumed by Noblemen once their population reaches 1500.
Linen garments Linen garments Weaver's hut Linen garments are clothing consumed by Citizens, Patricians, and Noblemen.
Leather jerkins Leather jerkins Tannery Leather jerkins are clothing consumed by Patricians and Noblemen once the Patrician population reaches 690.
Fur coats Fur coats Furrier's workshop Fur coats are clothing consumed by Noblemen once their population reaches 950.
Brocade robes Brocade robes Silk weaving mill Brocade robes are very sophisticated clothing consumed by Noblemen once their population reaches 4000.
Books Books Printing house Books are possessions consumed by Patricians and Noblemen once the Patrician population reaches 940.
Candlestick Candlestick Redsmith's Workshop Candlesticks are possessions consumed by Patricians and Noblemen when once Nobleman population reaches 3000.
Glasses Glasses Optician's workshop Glasses are possessions consumed by Noblemen once their population reaches 2200.
Provisions Provisions Provision house Provisions are not consumed by inhabitants but instead by damaged military units to speed their healing. They can be produced in either small, medium, or large batches, each of which requires different goods and materials.

These are goods which are directly consumed by Oriental inhabitants (Nomads and Envoys). All of these production facilities require a road connection to a warehouse, so you can store the finished products. On an island with your inhabitants, if any warehouse contains these goods, they will be available to the inhabitants through their house's road connection to the marketplace. Perfume Perfume Perfumery Perfume is a sophisticated possession consumed by Envoys once their population reaches 2200.
Marzipan Marzipan Confectioner's workshop Marzipan are a sophisticated food consumed by Envoys once their population reaches 4000.

Construction materials

Construction materials are used to construct buildings, ships, and to upgrade houses. They must be stored in a warehouse on the island where they will be used (cannot use materials on one island to construct buildings on another). Each production building requires a road connection to a warehouse for storage and usage.
