The Gatehouse is an Occidental Defense building that creates passages through City walls. It has the same design as the Watchtower. Similarly to the Watchtower, the Gatehouse places archers on city walls it is connected to upon being placed. These archers do not increase the attack power of the Gatehouse.
The gatehouse has slightly more health than the Watchtower, but costs more Military budget without dealing additional damage. This makes the Gatehouse a worse choice for defending your settlement, but a better choice in terms of utility. Upon unlocking Noblemen, the Gatehouse can be replaced by its upgraded version; the Fortified gatehouse.
