Imperious and proud, the Baronessa is a woman of high stature, who is willing to do anything to get what she wants. Killing off all of her previous husbands, she obtained new titles that make her a feared woman indeed. The Baronessa is a devout diplomat and is a very difficult person to have around. She will buy you out and not even lose a dime. (+225 difficulty).

She dislikes you more the more quests you complete for the Lord, Grand Vizier and the corsairs (she stays content if you complete a quest for Giacomo Garibaldi).

As an Italian woman, the Baronessa will use (and build) the Tradesman's Cog if the Venice-Addon is installed.

*The weaker/stronger modifier results from a variable number of modifiers such as fleet size, population, civilization level etc. Nomad and Envoys have no effect to the calculation (Example: if you try for the achievement 'A place in the sun', you have no peasants and thus you are almost always called weaker than the opponent).

Quests and Achievements

The "Mirror, mirror on the wall" Achievement requires the player to complete the following quests. Baronessa Constanza Zanchi will only offer these quests while the player has formed an Alliance with her and has reached the Noblemen Civilisation level.

• Recognition (Reach a total worldwide Population of 10,000 Inhabitants)
  • The player must have less than 9500 Inhabitants to start this quest.
  • This quest will be disabled if the Worldwide Inhabitants Victory condition is active.
• Honourable (Reach 3000 Honour)
  • The player must have less than 2500 Honour to start this quest.
  • The player must have reached the Metropolis status.

"The Wicked Stepmother" is a Diplomacy Achievement that requires the player to complete the following quests for Baronessa Constanza Zanchi. She will only offer these quests while the player has an Alliance with her. The first quest requires the player to be at the Patrician Civilisation level, while all other quests require the Noblemen Civilisation level.

• A blaze of glory I-III
  • Requires the player to have reached the Metropolis status.
  • At least one Gold mine must be built in any of your settlements.
• The great feast I-IV
  • Requires the player to have reached the Metropolis status.
  • At least one Candlemaker's workshop must be built in any of your settlements.
  • Requires the player to have at least 2 Warships in their fleet.
  • At least 3 quests for the Baronessa must already have been completed.
• The search for the fountain of youth I-VI
  • Requires the player to have at least 2 Warships in their fleet.
  • At least 4 quests for the Baronessa must already have been completed.
