Produces Coal.
The Coal mine is an Occidental Production building that produces Coal when placed on a Coal deposit. The Coal deposit will slowly deplete as the Coal mine produces Coal, but can be replenished with Gold coins. The maximum capacity of a Coal mine is 2500 tons of Coal. It is a direct upgrade from the Charcoal burner's hut, producing twice as much coal per minute, without the need for a large, unobstructed working area for trees. The only downside is the additional cost.

The production chain for producing Coal consists of a single Coal mine placed on a Coal deposit. Replenishing a Coal deposit costs 5 Gold coins per ton of Coal, bringing the total maintenance cost to 50 Gold coins per minute.
Production chains are generally defined using the Charcoal burner's hut. The following production chains have been adjusted to use a Coal mine instead.

Strategy[]
Coal created from a Coal mine is more expensive per ton (12.5 gold/ton) than that from a Charcoal burner's hut. Additionally, the Coal deposit must also be replenished from time to time which adds an additional maintenance cost. However, since land usage is very limited during the end-game, it's recommended to convert as many Charcoal burner's huts to Coal mines as possible.
